Pregnancy Discrimination

It is illegal for an employer to  discriminate against an employee in the terms and conditions of employment, or to terminate the  employee, due to her pregnancy.

A pregnant employee is entitled to reasonable accommodations for medical conditions that occur due to her pregnancy that interfere with her work duties.

In  addition a pregnant employee is entitle to up to four months of pregnancy leave for medical reasons due to her pregnancy.

In addition, under certain circumstances, a pregnant employee is entitled to up to 12 weeks of Family Medical Leave to bond with her new infant.
